1955 Courtois French C trumpet SOLD email us about this trumpet - admin@centex-brass.com This is a 1955 Courtois C trumpet. It has a nickel silver leadpipe and an "underslung" third valve slide ring. Original lacquer is approximately 90% . Inner part of slides are nickel silver and the valve compression is excellent. Has side lever style water keys and other typical features found on French made trumpets... inset valve top caps, matching numbers on valve spring barrels, french style finger hook and extensive stamping on the bell hallmark. By all appearances this horn is in original condition, so this suggests very low use. It came from the estate of a university music professor, so may have been more of a collectable or used in its early years and put on a shelf. No dents or signs of past repairs. Not a large bore horn like is preferred for current symphonic use, but for the occassional use or chamber work, this is a great playing French style C trumpet. Has a very clear tone and intonation is good. Does not come with a case, but we have several cases listed in the Cases section or can supply a generic case or gig bag for no extra cost if desired.
