This is a 1965 Reynolds Emporer C trumpet. When we first acquired this horn, we assumed that it had been converted from a Bb trumpet; however, the fit and finish suggest otherwise.  The second valve slide tubes come straight out of the valve block rather than at an angle as is done on Bb trumpets.  This would be a significant additional change to make as part of a conversion and suggests this horn was manfuactured as a C trumpet.  There is not a C trumpet in any of the Reynolds catalogs of the period, so perhaps this is a custom horn or a prototype that never went into production.

It does have a medium large bore and intonation is very good.  It has a first slide saddle and 3rd slide ring, both with stop screws similar to what Olds was using on the C trumpets it was making at the time.   Overall an excellent C trumpet and an outstanding value for a professional level C trumpet.

Silver plating is excellent.

This trumpet clean inside and out.  All slides are smooth.

Engraving is sharp and clear.

Come with a generic hard case.
