This is a 1967 Conn Connstellation 38B Bb trumpet.  The Connstellation was made famous by Maynard Ferguson and other players in the 1950's. The 38B is the larger bell version of this horn.

Here is what Conn said in a 1966 catalog: "Here is the large bore feel that top artists prefer. Produces six to 12 decibels more sound for the same player effort. The finest of mechanical superiority. First valve trigger. Micro-finish mouthpipe. Electro-D bell and mouthpipe. Undercut slides. Length 21½". Bell 5 1/8".

Clear lacquer is placed over nickel plated horns and with very few exceptions, the lacquer does not hold up well over time.  Most Connstellations of this era have a rough appearance due to chipping and pealing of the lacquer.  This particular instrument is exceptional condition with only the most minimal wear to the lacquer.

All valves and slides are smooth and valve compression is very good.

Does not come with a case or mouthpiece.
